KH WikiCanon Point: KH3, after having a conversation with "himself" on the beach
Age: Sixteen
God Houses:
❧ Heimdall. -ICly option-
Riku has proven to be a loyal person to his loved ones. He has come to sacrifice himself for their welfare, on one occasion even letting darkness take hold of him again thinking it was the only way to save them.
❧ Tyr.
He will not think twice when facing any danger, and while having no plan may make him somehow nervous he doesn't cower. At the same time, if violence -or risking something for no reason at all- isn't a must he may try to use the diplomacy instead.
Personality:
"Something... tastes kind of funny. What is it? It's so familiar.
Darkness. The taste of darkness.
What's happened to me... The darkness even seeps into my senses."
Riku is a person with a strong personality, calm and intelligent. When working, he prefers to do things alone and in his own way, however, that happens little since he is always accompanied by someone. It isn't like he would complain about that, nor that he wants to. He was not always like that, because during a time he was obsessive and impulsive, letting his ambitions decide what to do. Those ambitions made his heart weak, letting himself be influenced to the point of turning against his best friend believing that he had replaced him. He was also very competitive and a big sore loser. Fortunately, with time he understood what his mistake had been and tried to remedy it, becoming the person he is today.
A mature teenager with clear ideas; always has a plan, never acts without one. He does not fear the consequences in the case that, unfortunately, he must act without a plan and be carried away by the moment. That doesn't mean that deep down he doesn't feel nervous when that happens.
Despite not being an aggressive person, he never rejects a good friendly fight -or any friendly challenge in general if there's a good price, and seeing his friend pout is the best one for him-. Since childhood he has always been fighting with wooden swords so he has a great battle skill and feels proud of it. Although he never uses those skills outside those childish fights if they are not to defend a loved one.
He is still a rather curious person with the unknown, although he no longer shows an obsession, maybe because the various trips he has made in recent years. However, if he has the opportunity to meet or see something for the first time, he will not refuse the offer. As long as he can return to your friends' side.
He keeps that childish side that drives him to make fun of his best friend whenever he can, or any friend in general since usually they make it easy for him. That’s something that may call the attention for those who don’t know him since Riku looks more like a serious person who wouldn’t enjoy a joke; he does, and can burst out laughing without shame. That last part, however, doesn’t happen too much unless his friends are close.
A person very attached to his friends whom he loves as if they were his own family. Without them he feels lost, they are the light that illuminate his life
still full of darkness. Riku has always been -except when darkness took control of him, and still was strong enough to protect them in the end- a person capable of doing anything for his loved ones. Their safety and happiness, for him, are the most important.
Writing Sample:
His hand falters a second, time enough for his keyblade to fall to the ground. Riku blinks quickly when surprised by the noise of metal hitting the ground; his mind clearly zoomed out at some point. “Thankfully no one was around...” he whispers embarrassed, not even worrying about recovering his weapon when it disappears. After clearing his throat, he takes up his steps to keep looking.
Riku had been in the Dark World again with Mickey trying to find a way to rescue their friends, and after returning he had heard Yen Sid say something about Sora being missing. It isn’t like he didn't know how to defend himself, but still Riku couldn’t help but worry. “What stupidity have you done this time?” It doesn’t matter to him if his friend can’t hear his question. He only stops when he reaches the gumiship that will take him to the world where Sora was last seen.
“I know he is fine. He isn’t alone after all. I just... need to make sure that he has not fallen into a deep sleep from which he cannot wake up.” It’s impossible for him not to notice the small figure looking at him; his teammate. “We both know how stubborn he can be. Or brainless, if you prefer.” A laugh breaks in his throat, but before getting on the gumiship his expression becomes serious. “Don’t tell Kairi, ok?”
What he does not expect is to be himself who falls involuntarily into a deep sleep; moments before reaching the pilot's seat he feels a sharp stab in the head, a pain that causes everything around him to become total darkness little by little. At least he would wake up on a new world, just not the one he had in mind.
